Sight Unseen

ESDC- Empire State Development Corp. came forth with new Covid-19 rules for Real Estate Salespersons. We cannot show properties to buyers. We may not set up appointments for the sellers to show their properties to our buyers. The only people allowed in are the home inspectors and appraisers. The buyers may see the property 3 days before closing, and are entitled to get their down payment back if the property does not meet their expectations. If this doe not sound insane I do not know what does. The only viewing allowed is a Virtual Tour via the Internet. There is no previewing before contract. So, I guess the successful agents will be the ones who convince their buyers to buy- Sight Unseen.

Besides the horrific deaths that have struck the old and young, weak and the strong, the rich and the poor, what do you consider the hardest to bear?

A)LOSS OF INCOME. B )PRICE-GOUGING ON EVERYTHING FROM EGGS TO TOILET PAPER. C) THE CLOSING OF BARBER SHOPS, HAIR SALONS, NAIL SALONS. D) PEOPJE WHO DO NOT ADHERE TO WEARING MASKS AND GLOVES, AND REFUSE TO ADHERE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING. E) THE CLOSURE OF ALL BARS, EATERIIES, THEATERS, MOVIE HOUSES HOUSES OF WORSHIP. F) THE LONELINESS OF ISOLATION.

For me, it’s a lot of things, but tthe isolation.m is the worst. Yes there’s Video Chat, and Facebook and a host other platforms available to us, but nothing compares to the warmth of a comfoting hug from a loved one.
